How to rearrange ssd between macbook (exchange)?

There is
macbook air 256 gb (bootcamp with windows 10)
macbook pro 128 gb
The SSD model for both macbooks is the same and compatible with each other. How to swap them correctly? Just rearranging won't work without reinstalling macOS on each? The issue of data safety is secondary, I will transfer the necessary data to an external drive first.

Get both out of the laptop.
Connect to a computer and take images from both.
Deinitialize disks.
Fill images by swapping disks.
