How to reallocate macOS Mavericks system disk size?
There is a Macbook Air 2013. The corresponding OS is preinstalled on it on a single system disk (250 GB).
There is a need to pinch off 50-80 GB to create a new partition. Google suggested using various utilities for these purposes (like iPartition, etc.), but they do not solve the problem - changing the size of the disk on which the system is installed is not available.
Actually, the main task is this: install Linux on a new partition, while maintaining native MacOS.
While I'm considering the option of reinstalling MacOS via Cmd + R at boot, I'm not sure that partition redistribution will be available (during installation).

Putting it in a virtual machine is not an option? It's easier and faster that way.
