How to protect your PC from lightning?

How to protect your computer from lightning?
Is it possible to just turn off the power from the router and the computer? At the same time, without pulling out the Internet cable from the router?
Can the PC be damaged if the provider's Internet cable is inserted into the router and from the router to the PC while the PC and the router are disconnected from the power supply?

Always unplug the cable from the router. Lightning struck when no one was at home, naturally everything was turned off. The port burned down. Therefore, I always disconnect the Internet cable in advance. The neighbors have the same problem. I do the same with an analog antenna - lightning protection did not save me.

if it’s a pity for the iron,
then disconnect from the network ( power and and and no ) completely
with me once after a thunderstorm, the port burned out,
now I don’t risk it (it’s better to have an hour without a network than to spend a week or even in the trash (you won’t restore

There are special devices for both power protection and network protection:

by definition, there is no sense). Hang the ground wire on the ground if you really have it (if it doesn’t exist or if it seems to be there, it won’t help).

If you pull out the power, then 99.9% that nothing will happen. Since the problem is just in the "nutrition". The effect of equipment burn-in is that during a lightning strike, there can be different voltages at the ends of your house. And also because of the static current that appears both during a lightning discharge and, for example, if you rub the other end of the cable against a fluffy kitten. In winter, static can be caught from falling snow. Unlikely, but possible.
If the router is connected, but the PC is not, then the router will burn. Burning PC is unlikely.
If there is a strong flash in the sun, then even when the PC is turned off, your PC will burn. ))

Can.
At the same time, without pulling out the Internet cable from the router?
How hard is it to get the plug out? Turn off the power and pull out the connector - this is almost 100% lightning protection. If the house has lightning protection, then there will be 100% protection of the computer from lightning.

In this case, the network card and / or ports in the router may burn out.

Everything that is connected by wires can burn out, lightning protection is not a panacea and easily breaks through.
So the only reliable way is to pull out the wires, from the router too, since lightning easily passes through the router and jumps to neighboring wires, burning out computers connected to the router with a cable.
