How to properly use a TV instead of a screen?

I'm going to use a 107 cm TV instead of a screen. At what distance from the screen is it better to be in order not to spoil your eyesight and how to set the fonts readable?

The distance is not so important. The main thing is to correctly adjust the brightness, contrast, clarity, color dynamics and many other parameters so that the eyes do not hurt. If you are going to use the TV to display text information, then most likely you will have to rebuild everything from the default settings.
Z.Y. I took an LG 32" HD TV for these purposes, but I couldn't set it up to show it as I used to, like a Samsung 19" desktop monitor (2010).
