How to properly transfer one user's files to another drive for Windows 10?
Many modern computers have a system SSD (usually about 100-200 GB) and an auxiliary HDD. In this scenario, the precious SSD is not a place for documents, photos, and even more so videos. But how can these files be transferred to the HDD correctly?
To begin with, in modern versions of Windows 10, documents and photos are initially linked to One Drive, so if this situation does not suit you (as, for example, in my case), then you first need to untie these folders from One Drive.
The "classic" way is to go to the `C:\Users\User_Name\` drive, then right-click, for example, on the "My Documents" folder, and then on the "Location" tab (I don't know what it's called in Russian Windows 10) replace `C:\Users\UserName\Documents` with `D:\\Users\UserName\Documents`. BUT: I read somewhere (the link was not preserved) that in this way the files will become visible to other users. Such side effects are unacceptable, so in this question I would like to ask about more technically correct alternatives.

the OneDrive folder can also be moved to another drive:
- turn off OneDrive
- copy (or move, by the way, affects the rights - you won’t need to edit the rights when transferring) to a new
location
; make junk (I use Far, Alt-F6 is there) from the new location to the standard
one - run OneDrive
enjoy
ps to move deskop, documents and pictures, to OntDrive - this is an exclusively personal matter (I move backup for the sake of it, and the sizes are not large) there is an option in the OneDrive settings that allows you to change this in a minute, in any direction, in anytime
though, junk to standard locations always:
- still not all programmers are out of the habit of standard paths
- no duplicates)) wherever the program writes, I will always find
