How to properly set up Android Studio?

The bottom line is this: Android Studio is wildly slow. When I write code, it can hang on autocomplete for up to 30 seconds or more. Moreover, it loads the processor by 37-45% even when it just hangs in the background: i.e. I worked on it during the day, then the laptop was put to sleep, in the evening I turn on the laptop and use chrome. The task manager hangs in the tray and I see how the download jumps back and forth. Even if nothing is wrong with the laptop.
Processor Core i3 M370 - 2.4 GHz, RAM - 6 GB, OS - Win 7 x64. I think the hardware characteristics have nothing to do with it - painfully strange behavior.

The hardware is not very good, there is not enough RAM, but he would obviously swear at its lack.
And if you put it on a virtual machine and check the behavior? Something tells me that the problem is not in the hardware.
