How to properly partition a hard drive before installing a hackintosh? (with Clover bootloader)?

Hello!
Tell me, is it necessary to divide the hard drive into partitions before installing a hackintosh? (EFI and for OS X itself). I have a 500Gb hard drive. I am using the Clover bootloader.
I tried to install Clover on the hard drive with OS X already installed, but after a seemingly “successful” installation, I still didn’t understand where it was installed ...

As a result, I have only one partition (with the system installed).
Thank you.

@Marusis

When marking in gpt, a hidden section of 200 meters is automatically created. This is where the bootloader is placed.
Do diskutil listit and see.
Well, that's right - format in gpt, not mbr.
