How to properly partition a disk in Ubuntu Server?

Hello, I'm setting up a server for Ubuntu. The purpose of the server is to transfer files, and it is planned to be permanent. I read that it is right to manually mark up disks, but each manual has its own point of view. Is there any specific guide? In 2 words, there will be many hundreds of GB of content that a user can access, and not one user per unit of time, but many. Also in the future, content replenishment by users. How to properly mark an area?

If in 2 words. Then they drank a piece with a section where the data will be stored. Under the system 20GB is enough. Swap to taste. But for example, I see no reason to make it big, RAM = Swap will be enough.

Sanes rightly said, do not split the disk into a bunch of unnecessary small partitions. Separate the swap and where the data will be, let the rest stay together.
I remember being confused by this as well.
