How to properly organize file sharing?
As it is now:
Shared folder in win2008 ntfs with 2 TB of multimedia files. It is mounted as a network drive for 10 users.
How to do it right? Use ftp or not? On which OS? Which FS to choose?
Is it ok to use FileZilla server for such purposes?

If we are talking about a local network and access within the network, then everything is fine with you. There is no sense in these conditions to lift FTP.
But if you need access from the Internet - then yes, you can FTP or SCTP or RDS in general, whichever you like and what you need, look at the situation.
OS choose with which is better able to handle.
