How to properly connect an external monitor to Macbook Pro 13" Retina?

Good afternoon, I bought a Dell 21.5 "P2217H monitor. I want to use it as a second Macbook Pro 13'' Retina early 2015 monitor. I connected it via HDMI. The quality of the text, to put it mildly, is not up to par. I tried to smooth the fonts. The effect was small, but again not so hot. I think it's probably an HDMI problem.Is it worth it to buy a miniDisplayPort adapter and connect to a DisplayPort monitor?Is it any improvement?Or maybe there are some other tips?Thanks.This is what
it
looks like on a Macbook screen:

@PRES1DENT

The problem was solved by connecting the monitor to the macbook with the original mini DP - DP cable.

in the monitor settings, the Sharpness or Sharpness parameter, see if it's not 100% worth it. I have that for HDMI that for DisplayPort - the picture is identical.

So it should be, if you want to buy a retina ready monitor like on a poppy.

You seem to have scaling enabled. on a 22" monitor, the scale of windows should be approximately the same as on a macbook. You must set the default resolution for the monitor.
