How to promote and market an application (children's book) for iPad?

Hey!

My team and I are finishing our interactive children's book , but we don't have an idea how exactly to promote it after release? Which tricks work and which don't?
If you sell your program through the App Store, and noticed that some kind of marketing move has paid off, we will be grateful for a hint :-)
Thank you!

prmac.com for $20 in any case, it pays off with 100% probability if you have a normal product, it can bring very good results if some media giant likes your program and they write about it themselves. It already depends on the program.
They tried to take ads on children's sites - it's useless, often visits to sites are not real and they take money for advertising just like that. They asked to send site statistics - not a single site sent.
But on all these sites, you can add your application for free for their consideration and review. There are about a dozen (normal) sites, they are searched on Google for queries like “ipad apps for kids”, “games for kids ipad”, etc.

There is no experience, but according to life experience, such things are mainly bought by mothers for their children. I think it's worth running ads on maternity/pregnancy forums/co-buying forums, and maybe also in women's magazines with a family focus. If one mother on the forum says that she bought such a “cool toy” for her child, the rest will not resist.

If the program is in English, write a tasty press release well tailored to the audience and distribute it through several channels, including PRweb.com .
Send the news to the editors of specialized sites, but not advertising, but useful for readers. Do not send in bulk, compose a separate letter for each, tailored to the audience of the site (several templates work).
Do not sell, inform about what issues of education and upbringing your interactive book solves. That's the main thing, imho.
Add simple Facebook/Twitter feedback forms to the app, so that parents can “thank” you for the book with their voice (like) with the click of a button.
There are many options, you need to use the whole set.
PS Do not forget about offline. The idea arose to talk with distributors of children's books, to share with them the proceeds from the sale of special codes, which are placed, for example, using stickers on children's books. Improvise)
Good luck!
