Pain is a subjective sensation
You can not program and just think that the arduino feels pain
A poorly made device can cause a lot of pain to its developer.
Pain is the interpretation of a signal of damage. I'm not sure that the use of this term makes sense in the context of a discussion of microelectronics. In any case, the arduino is too primitive a device to provide the proper level of self-diagnosis.
John Connor: Does it hurt when you get shot?
T-800: I sense injuries. The data could be called "pain".
In the simplest sense, this is an alarm signal, i.e. in the case of an arduino, you can control the adequacy of the data from the sensor or the fact that data is being exchanged/received. Those. hang an LED and say there is a temperature sensor, if the data comes in exorbitant numbers, then the LED is on, if the data does not come, then again the LED is on, this will be, in a simple sense, an indication of pain.
There should be a variable "state" Positive values - comfort, negative - discomfort, pain. 0 - indifference. You must come up with reactions yourself (plus - green LED, minus - red).
