How to ping an address in a virtual machine?

Hello. Understanding DNS in Linux. with BIND. Set up your zone for direct and reverse dereferencing. through dig in Linux itself everything works fine. Question. How can I ping the zones I created so that they are correctly dereferenced? The main OS is Windows, Linux is on a virtual machine (lubuntu). when I try to simply register ping myzone.ru in Windows, the address that I specified for dereferencing is not pinged at all.

  1. Set the DNS to your DNS in the virtual machine.
  2. Check out the nslookup manual.

Write the desired address on Windows in hosts
Just keep in mind that this will only work on your machine!
For this to work from everywhere, you need to purchase / receive a domain (of any level), and configure a DNS server in it.
