How to perform a quick transfer of a folder with a site to the root?

I made a test site in the /site_ac/ folder, now I want to put it in the root /
In the settings, this path is saved, but the site does not open.
Do I understand correctly that it is necessary to manually drag the /site_ac/ folder via FTP to the root and then change the settings and htaccess ?
