How to paste an intro and an end to a bunch of video files on Mac or Linux?

Given 40+ video files (mkv, mp4), you need to glue a piece to all of them at the beginning and at the end. A piece is a single 5 second video file.
Available:
1) MacBook Pro late 2013 retina
2) Pretty decent PC with Linux
How can I do this semi-automatically? Still, two Unis systems, I process pictures with thousands of scripts in one and a half lines in linux. Surely there is a normal solution for batch video processing, so as not to glue every video in the aimuve.
