How to overlay a PNG image in Adobe XD?

I want to render a design with a specific template, overlay a PNG image and lock it, make it 50% transparent. But the problem is that after this process, I cannot select the created elements, since the top layer overlaps the bottom one and this does not allow selecting elements. Is there any solution?
