How to organize your own web server for a web studio?

Hello.
I myself am a programmer and in a small web-studio the question arose of organizing my own server.
Those. the task is to put a separate machine, put Apache on it, and all the pull-ups.
How do you organize your web server? What OS are you installing, can there be some additional software ? Are there any good manuals on this topic? In Google, there are only merchants with their VPS / VDS and so on. The task is simple, a new client has appeared, you need to bam to make your host fast for him. Test or production. Yes, it would be possible to say: it's easier to rent. Yes, it’s not easier, there are more and more projects, and you have to pay dearly for a place. ps openserver, do not offer Denver :)

Buy ispmanager, hire an admin who will install and configure it, hire an admin who will devote at least 15 minutes a week to the server on the topic "raid, backups, published vulnerabilities and etc".
And there are plenty of hosters, this question is secondary, yes.
If you ask questions like "What OS do you install, software" - then I strongly advise against doing such things on your own, then you will blush in front of clients when all sites go into DT without the possibility of recovery.

As an option - a virtual machine (vps) with CentOS 6.x + vestacp.com
