First, the objectives of the product are identified and approved. What cases should he solve? As you personally see it (the product). The more detailed the better. After that, you can start work.
The interface should be designed by a person with experience in UX. This part is even more important than the visual part, as it is responsible for how a person will feel when he works with the application and how he will behave. He must have experience in usability, understand the features of platforms, have a good idea of how development for a specific platform takes place, be familiar with various practices for solving specific problems, know what is easy to do in the system, what is difficult. It is also very important to be able to make interactive prototypes in order to quickly test some solutions (or demonstrate them to a client / developer).
The designer must also have experience in creating interfaces for a specific platform.
It's good when both UX and UI are done by one person (or one team) with experience in both areas. It's super good if they also know the cuisine directly from the development.
Also, throughout the entire project, it is important to be sure that both the client, the designer and the developer are talking about the same product and see it in the same way. It is also important to clearly define the specific goal to which you are all going together, specifically what you want to create, since during development there will be a great temptation to add extra features to the product. This is best left for the future and generally well planned.
There are many ready-made services for demonstrating and discussing designs or prototypes with a client or team. All are tailored for specific tasks. As an example for remote discussion of layouts, we often use the service www.invisionapp.com You can directly point to specific places there and discuss them or link layouts into a clickable prototype.
It's a little confusing, I hope it helped.

Let's say if we omit managerial tasks and consider the technical side. As an interface designer, this is interesting to me, but I think developers too. I usually pass the layouts to the developer in ai, psd, jpg or gif, which shows a complex animation of the interface, because. words can be difficult to explain.
Or maybe you have some well-established schemes that simplify and speed up the entire process of interaction between a designer and a developer?
