How to organize viewing of photos and videos from NAS?

There is a Zyxel NAS326. It contains an archive of videos and photos. The task is to organize (if possible, of course) convenient remote viewing of this video and photo via the Internet. Through the application of some kind or through the browser - it does not matter.
Nuance: The video is of rather high quality and weighs a lot, and the client has a speed limit on the Internet channel. Those. for a video stream, you need to lower the resolution, bitrate, etc. Either on the fly or pre-process video files.
There will be at most one client at a time.

Maybe there are some ready-made solutions? On this nas, it seems like you can run a full-fledged debian, maybe there is something for it? The only question is whether there will be enough resources, especially for video processing on the fly.

I heard nas326 and my eye twitched. Found somewhere in the pantry, still alive.
So - there he, "inside", has everything. And a media server too. And Webpublish. You just need to turn it on and forward the ports on the router to it.

I think that you want too much from your file
washer. There will not be enough resources, even despite what kind of hardware it costs. All vendors put minimal hardware on NAS. Savings on production and maximum profit.
Watching a video is actually downloading it, for an approximate concept I will give the necessary speeds for playing videos on YouTube
2160p (4k) - 35 - 45 Mbps
1440p (2k) - 16 Mbps
1080p - 8 Mbps
720p - 5 Mbps with
480p - 2.5 Mbps
360p - 1 Mbps
Can you just make a few copies with different bitrates and run the one you need?
As for viewing, I haven’t come across it, but if I’m not mistaken, this option is possible.
Connect via FTP and watch through players that play video immediately upon download (if I'm not mistaken, VLC can do this)
