How to organize sound recording in the background?

Good day!
There is a task: to organize a permanent recording of sound from a microphone in the background with saving to a network drive, preferably on free software.
The program should start recording automatically on startup.
Needed to resolve conflicts with clients. I rummaged through a bunch of software, but did not find anything useful. Maybe someone solved this problem?
