How to organize real-time monitoring of the availability of computers on the network?
Tell me if there is any software that displays the availability of a PC on the network in real time.
In general, this is the idea, I decided to put tags on all the patch cords that are connected to the switch, but pull them out one by one and wait for an employee to come running to me shouting that the Internet is not working, so I want to know if there is a program for real-time monitoring, so that, for example, I disabled the patch and it showed me which computer disappeared from the network. If there are easier options, I'm ready to listen.

You can start with friendly pinger, but according to your mind, configure Zabbix right away, sending notifications to the cart
If you have managed switches at your disposal, information about which MAC is connected to which port can be taken directly from them.
I wrote such a program in Python.
Checks availability by pings in the specified range.
Next, we pull out the patch cord and run the program again - it compares which of the previous ones did not answer.
There is a minus, I wrote not through asynchronous requests - it works for a long time, but it can help.
If you are interested [email protected] I will
assume that it is not smart to use Zabbix for this.
I solved this problem in a different way, it will work if you use M365 and have Power Automate in your subscription.
A Powershell script (the list of machines can be either static or dynamically received daily, hourly, whatever) pings the machines, then the result of the script is placed in OneDrive, as a result of which it executes a trigger that launches Power Flow, which passes through the file and, if (in my case it was like this), there are lines with offline, then it sends a letter to everyone interested.
