How to organize printing in enterprises?

Hello. As you know, the printer driver is a very buggy software and it would be a bad idea to place drivers for all printers on one server. In this regard, the question is: how then can it be organized differently? My idea is to create a folder "for printing" in a shared shared folder and for each printer in this folder create a subfolder so that the file copied to this subfolder via FTP is sent to the computer with the desired printer and printed there by software. But maybe there are better ideas or ready-made solutions?
In large companies, for example, a file sent for printing is simply sent to the cloud, then a person goes to any printer, attaches a card and his document is printed. But this is too expensive solution

There is such a thing - network printers that work autonomously from a computer.
There is such a thing - a printer with a full hardware implementation. And there is - with incomplete.
The cheapest printers are buggy, their driver on the computer is essentially part of the printer and performs a significant part of the work.
When faced with the need for stable printing, I simply set the so-called. "print servers, print servers" (hardware, it's convenient and inexpensive ).
