How to optimize the collection of personal data?
Purpose:
To collect data from ~2000 people by filling in one Excel table for import into an information system with a given data structure.
Objective:
Organize the collection and minimize routine data manipulation operations to eliminate human error and reduce the time to prepare the final file.
Conditions: The
respondents should not see the information of other people or only part of it (personal data).
Respondents should not be able to edit other people's information. Optional condition, it is permissible to leave this item on the trust of the participants.
It is necessary to use tools and services available to the home PC user, without automation or scripting (for example, Excel, Google Doc, various web services).
Each participant must fill in the table from one to several lines.
Each participant in the table has a unique identifier.
The participant has the right to refuse to fill in, my goal is to motivate him to fill out the table.
Options I'm considering:
1) Send out an Excel template to all participants, get 2000 files in response and manually reduce it into one file. Minus: high labor costs and risks of errors;
2) Transfer the Excel template to Google Sheets and send the participants a link to complete the file. Minus: conflicts and low conversion of participants due to the need to indicate personal and financial data for a large audience (2000 people).
2.1) Addition to options with Google Sheets. Ask participants to fill in all the data except for personal data. Send personal data in separate files by mapping a unique identifier from an Excel file with personal data (simplified Option 1).
What solutions do you see for the problem? Perhaps there are some survey services that could glue all the results of the answer into one table? I will be glad to your advice and clarifying questions.
