How to minimize a function from one variable in scipy?

I'm trying to minimize a function from one variable (for a test). Why does it show the local minimum and not the global one?5d93723ba01b2726807637.png5d93724642c04640306771.png5d93724c73f2e182284557.png

Most likely the OS crashed. Alternatively, the router was hacked and control was taken over. Change it at a pace and reflash.

You're not Andy McTracher 's roommate , by any chance? He is in the next branch just trying to deprive his neighbor from the Internet: How to turn off the Internet on the router / the router itself via wifi?

Most algorithms only look for a local minimum. You can choose a starting point closer to the global minimum to find exactly that.
