Why does the Internet turn off when the VPN is turned off in the router?

Please tell me, there is a router: Asus RT-AC86U
It was necessary to make a VPN for everyone who connects to the network of this router.
I generated keys from the VPN service, and added them to the router, and turned it on.

It works correctly, as it was intended, all the equipment in the house is connected to the router and already has a VPN address.
But sometimes you need speed, and if you turn off VPN in the router panel, then the equipment stops seeing the regular Internet, without vpn.
Can this be fixed somehow? So that if it is enabled (then everything works from the VPN, and when I turn it off, everything goes directly without VPNa, now, if you turn it off, the technique stops working until you either delete the vpn keys from the router, or you reboot the router completely by reset.
This was checked on this mobile PC and
TV.When VPNa is disabled, only PC, mobile and TV remain working, not seeing WIFI, not LAN, although the TV is connected via LAN directly.
