How to master Linux?

Decided to study programming. I don't know why, but I really wanted to try Linux. Help with choosing a distribution kit and books, manuals for quick learning. Among languages I study c/c++. Can you answer the question in more detail and explain whether I need Linux.

A plan for learning Linux, not books, not courses, but in general, describe the plan?
Z.Y. With your ability to search for information, it's not worth it.

I switched to linux, solved the problems that arose during use, the errors associated with the execution of my code in linux, and so the picture of the linux world was formed.
From something specific: the last thing I watched, I really liked it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAMGp651ez4&list=P...

The choice of a distribution kit is determined mainly by the ability to work independently, find errors and redo for the twentieth time what was done incorrectly the first nineteen... linuxoid". In such a beginning, there is nothing to worry about - if at some point there is a desire to "get under the hood". If it does not arise - well, it happens, replenish the army of "under-Linuxoids" who work hard in the console (and even this is not a big deal - but they know the options of the GUI configurators by heart :D)
If there is such a skill to some extent - then centos, debian and other package distributions of a corporate plan - already without whistles and tweeters, with a minimalist hum or without it at all. It will not give detailed knowledge about how Linux works or, for example, how and why the kernel is rebuilt - but this level of knowledge is often not needed - you can usually install, start the service, configure it without it.
If there is enough such skill (as well as heaps of free time) and you want to collect "cogs" - gent (and its derivatives), arch, slack, LFS. The entry threshold is raised to the maximum, the deployment speed of any service is minimal - but there will definitely be knowledge about everything - simply because nothing will work without it.
