How to make friends tablet and navigator?

I have a tablet on Android 4th version with USB OTG input, but without GPS.
And I also have a regular navigator, with stupid controls, slow, but with GPS.
Is it possible to make friends with them so that the navigator thaws location data on a USB tablet, and the tablet displays it on normal maps?

I would do this like this - rutanul the navigator and install some software there for forwarding data from the GPS module to the USB port, and on the tablet - client software that emulates GPS, or on the navigator immediately emulated USB-GPS, for the driver known to be on the tablet . In short, in any case, it will be a crutch of crutches.
Does the tablet have Bluetooth? And then at such a price for a classic solution to this problem, bathing with an external navigator is somehow ... well ... strange.

External GPS Dongle not considered? Prices for them are now low and crutches will be needed quite a bit.
