How to make exim4 send mail via relay?

I do according to this "instruction": askubuntu.com/questions/167043/how-do-i-configure-...

<your hostname> - mysite.ru
relay: mail.nic.ru::587

After that I try:
echo "This is a test." | mail -s Testing [email protected]

The letter does not reach
In the logs:

2016-06-21 17:06:04 1bFMJY-0000Ta-Ea Completed

hostname outputs: mysite.ru
What am I doing wrong?

@mxms

This manual is not for Exim.
Therefore, the question must either be reformulated, or look for instructions for Exim.
