How to make a network printer from an old printer?
Greetings.
The question is actually this: there are a certain number of completely working printers, for which there are a lot of cartridges, and the equipment itself is quite working (plus the absence of chips, which is a huge plus).
But the trouble is that there are no drivers for modern operating systems for these printers, even for 64-bit seven there are not always.
Therefore, the question is, is there a way to make such a printer a network one? For example, some Linux distribution that will send some standard printer to the network? Well, in general, something like that.

print server, but not all devices can work with these devices, and you will need to install drivers for the systems
If the printers are not quite ancient, then try installing the XP drivers in compatibility mode. It worked with Windows 7.
Or with a virtual machine somehow break your head.
Ubuntu supports a fairly large number of drivers (very fast installation), try it and it will help you, I drive mine through it. Good luck.
Here they write the following:
Built-in MS Publisher Imagesetter
To use the MS Publisher Imagesetter driver, use "Add Printer" to add a new network printer, select "Connect to a printer on the Internet..." and enter the URL for your printer queue (eg rock :631/printers/Epson). When prompted for a driver select a Manufacturer of "Generic" and the Printer "MS Publisher Imagesetter".
