How to make a heat map?
I have a database containing a bunch of American cities, where each is associated with some value, on which I need to create a heat map. I would like to get something similar to this. I found two more or less adequate ways to do this: Perl and the Imager::Heatmap extension or Javascript and sources from here . The first method has obvious disadvantages: it takes a terribly long time to calculate coordinates, knowing the names of cities. The second method is not bad, but for each city you have to look for its district, and this is also manual, and also long. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Who draws these cards?

There is a hitmap on google maps. You can put markers on addresses and then reflect them in the form of a heat map. It draws very nicely. And the map itself can be styled. Make a separate style and colors of your own for roads, forests, fields, seas so that it will not look like Google Mar.
