How to make a folder in ubuntu available to mac?

There are iMac and Ubuntu pc in the local network.
From the poppy, I can see the site which is on the local ip 10.10.10.10 (For example)
How can I access the ubuntu files from the poppy specifically to the /var/ folder and everything inside it
AND have full rights 777
What a list of actions I need to do point by point?

@nazarpc

Never give even a local user access 777 to the entire /var folder, there is a lot of stuff in there that even an ordinary local user should not see!
As a matter of fact - you did not try to share through Samba as it is usually done?

@Hoper

Try NFS
on the giving machine, install the nfs server
Edit /etc/exports
Mount on the client (because imac ~ unix, nfs should be supported).
maybe this will help.
