How to make a filter for displaying products with checkboxes on Opencart?

I have version 2.1.0.2.1 and I want to understand if it is possible to make and in what ways the selection of categories or subcategories of the menu with checkboxes and display them on the page (I attach the screenshot), that is, you can select several categories and the products of the corresponding selected categories will be displayed.
