How to make a box-shadow for a round png image?

Hello. I have a png image that has a circle and a transparent background. I'm trying to make a box-shadow for it, but this property is applied around the entire image, i.e. the shadow is square and goes around the transparent background too. Can you please tell me if there is a way to solve this problem so that the box-shadow wraps around only the visible part of the image?
