How to make 3D letters (using 3D text)?

I am using 3d text object. I would like to make the letters three-dimensional. In theory, this is a very simple action that should be performed by changing the Scale parameter on the Z axis. However, changing this parameter does not lead to anything at all.

I won’t copy the same text over and over again with a little confusion, this is complete nonsense. How then can you make large letters?

1. Try to use a 3D font, which is better not to do)
2. Create a 3D model of beeches and combine a word from these models and save it in a fab and then use it (I helped you if you could, sorry)
