How to legally place an order for website development?

There is such a question.
We have been developing websites for almost two years. We look for clients and cooperate with them directly.
Does it make sense to draw up a contract between the client and the contractor? If so, what form should it take?
And also, is there a need to register an IP?
I have been asking this question for a long time, I would not like to have any kind of trouble in the future.

almost like Hamlet's monologue: "To be or not to be, that is the question ..."
Briefly to the point:
1. There is a sense in the contract.
2. You need to register (if you want to grow and develop). There is an article - illegal entrepreneurial activity, as a rule, it motivates, and although many may object, it works mostly through the efforts of "loyal" customers.
3. Everyone doesn't want trouble... but like a bureaucrat in a song - you're a bug without a piece of paper...
4. You shouldn't ask questions (otherwise you can choke them later), but solve them consistently. Find a lawyer and for 1-2 tr. get a normal (without water) advice on how, in what form to register, how to start formalizing the activity.
