How to learn Web Design from scratch and what technologies will you need?

Hey! I want to become a web designer. How to start? Do you need knowledge of front-end development? What books, courses to watch or learn? Thanks to everyone who replied.

At the initial stage, knowledge of front-end development is definitely not useful. As a start, I recommend reading Steve Krug's book Don't Make Me Think!
And quickly start trying to make design, make mistakes, read, upgrade your taste on dribble , beehance , pinterest .

it is necessary to know css - to understand what technical possibilities of composition and design
are even better - to be able to typeset and animate on your own

I highly recommend a series of courses https://www.coursera.org/specializations/ux-ui-design Almost ideal for entry, everything is very clearly explained from the basics to advanced user research and interface testing techniques.

There are many courses on YouTube. Books - for general development and basic knowledge.
Now the stack of designers is something like this:
1. photoshop
2. illustrator
3. sketch (actively crowding out photoshop, but adobe responded by entering the adobe XD market)
4. using the bootstrap grid when creating layouts (layouts will be grateful to you))
5. draw inspiration from trendy things. see template examples on themeforest, for example.
