By using the keyboard keys more often, no matter how obvious it may sound.
Ctrl, Tab, Space and other keys work wonders. And in Windows, any interface element can be used without a target pointer (mouse cursor). I learned this back in the 2000s when there were occasional problems with the mouse/ports and I had to do without it.

Install Linux without a graphical shell. Or any other OS that is NOT oriented towards such input devices. Otherwise, you will constantly poke into the limitations of the OS.
