How to install Ubuntu on a Macbook and not screw up?
I want to put Ubuntu on an old Macbook 2012 (i5 processor, Retina).
I'm planning to install Ubuntu on the entire drive and I'm worried that after a full format of the hard drive, I won't be able to go back to the recovery menu (⌘R) and revert back to any version of OS X (last supported or native that the laptop came with).
Please confirm or refute my concerns.
I would be grateful for any other recommendations on the topic of pitfalls and how to deal with them. Thank you.

In any case, you will have access to the recovery menu.
I have changed hard drives to empty SSDs in several Mac Minis - without any cloning - Mac OS itself downloaded and installed via the Internet
