How to install the system on an old hard drive?

I connected the old disk to the IDE port, booted from the installation flash drive. When you select a partition from this disk (the only one) during the installation of Windows 7, the following error occurs:
Installing Windows on this disk is not possible. Your computer's hardware may not support booting from this disc. Make sure that the drive's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.
How to solve this problem? Thank you!

I would boot from a bootable flash drive and deploy the Acronis image there. Or install from wim...

Most likely, you need to set the HDD mode from AHCI to Legacy.

Do not neglect the most exotic versions, until the author of the question gave reason to dismiss such versions on the move. Therefore, I will ask - or maybe this partition is simply not set as active (bootable)? Or is the disk partitioned in MBR format, and the physical sector of the disk containing the master boot record (cylinder 0, head 0, sector 1) is bad?
The first is easily recoverable, the second is not.
