Can this be done with apt-get install?
I want to install with dependencies and this can only be done from the ubuntu repository as I understand
it And there is only version 2.4

The best solution would be to connect a third-party repository, as described in the MongoDB docs. The full instructions are

database size is limited to 2GB.
