How to install MTS connection manager on Ubuntu?

I'm new to linux, and have recently ubuntu-zed my entire computer. And I want to install the MTS connection manager so that I can access the Internet, otherwise it does not recognize when I put in the modem.

it is no longer needed in ubuntu, use network-manager.
