How to install LTS kernel on CentOS Linux release 8.2.2004 (Core)?
Good afternoon!
Tell me how to install the LTS kernel (for example 5.4) in the standard way (via dnf), which repository to connect? I understand what can be built from source, but I would like to use the standard paths as much as possible.
All googling talks about elrepo, but there is no LTS kernel for el8, only el7 and it is not installed on the 8th version of the OS. In the elrepo mailing list they write that the authors of CentOS themselves support different versions of LTS kernels, but only for the 7th version, there is no kernel repository for CentOS 8. Only the mainline version can be installed through elrepo.

Isn't there an LTS kernel in centos?
A more logical question is why? Most of the necessary and justified things are backported, checked and tested. Then they get into kernel updates. What features are needed that are not in the main distribution?
