I tried, using Lenovo C200 as an example. Theoretically, everything is installed, and even loaded. But in practice - the speed of work will be much lower than even on a conventional HDD. You're not going to leave exfat on microSD, are you? And something else there is of little use. In three days of torment, I almost finished off the card - errors began to appear when reading and writing.
What's the problem to put OS on ssd 32GB? We make the root partition 5Gigs, we do not use swap (well, it depends on how much RAM), and the rest under /home. And here is a microsd for additional space for user data, if necessary.
The cost of microsd >64GB is approaching the cost of ssd at 120GB. So isn't it easier to change the ssd to a more capacious one?
