How to insert jquery code in joomla?

Actually, the question is in the subject itself. There is a self-written slider code on jkveri, which should work only on the main page. How to plug it into joomla 3.4? I've been struggling with this simple task for more than an hour, but I can't figure out how to make it work.

In the templates folder, look for the folder with your template.
In the template folder there is a js folder, in fact there are js's.
Or at the end of the index file, in the same template folder.
It's hard to say exactly where your template is.
