How to insert a document from Google Docs into a LiveJournal post?

I ran into this issue when I tried to insert the html code offered by Google for sharing a document into a LiveJournal post.
This code is an iframe tag, but some tags, as it turned out, are prohibited in LiveJournal and are simply cut out of it when sending a post.
I learned about the wonderful tag <lj-embed>, in which you need to wrap the inserted element, replacing it <iframe>with <object>. This solution works in opera, chrome, firefox, but not in ie-8.
