How to initialize hard drives on OS X?

Hello!
OS X stopped seeing the external hard drive (NTFS) for some reason. Please tell me how to fix this?
Can't connect it...

@Marusis

An empty one is marked up a level.
It's NTFS. MacOS does not understand them. If with info, you won't see it.
If you want to carry information on it between different machines, mark up an empty one in MacOS as [Journaled].
It will be seen in Windows as well.
