How to increase the resolution of the connected monitor?
Hello!
I connect a widescreen monitor to my laptop. Permissible resolution of the monitor is greater than the laptop. But it turns out that installing more than on the laptop does not work. Those. The resolution of the monitor rests on the resolution of the laptop (you can put less). I read that VGA does not support high resolutions.
Notebook:
Lenovo G700,
Windows 7 (clean),
max. screen resolution - 1600x9000.
Monitor:
Samsung S24C650BW,
max. screen resolution is 1920x1080.
Connection method:
VGA-VGA
What I did: I
installed the monitor driver,
updated the video card driver to the latest version,
I didn’t check it with any other connection types (VGA and HDMI in the laptop).
I will be grateful for the answer!

In clone mode, nothing will work for you, only in desktop extension mode you can set permissions individually.
