How to increase OS performance due to excess RAM memory?

Hello. There is a laptop on which the hard drive is constantly overloaded, but there is 12 GB of RAM.
I'm not very good at what the system does by loading the hard drive to 100% (according to the task manager), but my intuition tells me that some of these processes can be transferred to a virtual disk located in the RAM memory that I have always half empty.
Tell me, is it possible to do something (and what) so that the processes that overload the HDD use RAM?
And also, how can you generally improve PC performance, given that the HDD is regularly overloaded and there is an abundance of RAM?
Thanks in advance for your replies. UPD. The problem was solved by moving 3 folders from appdata: Local, Roaming LocalLow to a 4GB RAM partition. Thanks to all

Here people described how to use extra memory for HDD tasks https://xakep.ru/2014/09/03/ram-drive-upgrade/

Disable the swap file. There are plenty of instructions on the internet on how to do this.
In windows, the memory manager is written in such a way that it always writes something there. This should improve the situation.
If this does not help, then it’s either to somehow deal with specific application processes and tune something, but it’s easier for me to change the disk.

To begin with, set the load source on the disk, for example, using Process Explorer
In the View -> Select Columns menu in the Process Disk tab, select something like this xu_iJtPuScE.jpg
and see who gobbled up all the disk time, sorted by columns.

The disk can be violated by the antivirus, I had a similar problem on Win8. On one of the computers with Win7, the antivirus was also naughty and checked all disks until 8 gigabytes of memory was filled with a cache of files that no one needed. At the same time, the disk rustled, but was not loaded at 100%.
You can transfer temp and browser caches to the RAM disk. In any case, it's worth doing, especially if you install an SSD.
And so, first you need to find out the reasons for such a disk load. Maybe a virus, maybe an antivirus, maybe the disk dies and does reallocation. Find the cause of the problem.

As a rule, in 8-ke this is solved by disabling the Prefetch / Superfetch services.
