Their site exposes, not yours. They monitor the visitor who came from your site and send him cookies that have a 24 hour time limit - this is their policy. That is, a person who clicked on a link from your site will be considered to have passed through the affiliate program for a day and no more. If a person referred from you, but did not buy anything in 24 hours, and then after 2 days went to their site, then the cookies have already expired and their site will not count you as a referral.
And you give out "your" cookies for at least 10 years - your partner site doesn't care. They do not read your cookies, but their own.
