How to include plugins in phonegap build?

Good day.
The second day I've been fighting with phonegap build (build.phonegap.com) - plugins are not connected
already and I wrote pens in the config and phonegap add plugin - no
one can tell me how to do this reliably or share the minimum "hello world" with the plugin
am I right I understand that I need to feed the zip with the contents of platforms / ios and pre-do phonegap build?
I want to connect card.io
